“Meet Your Match” at the Denver Municipal Animal Shelter this Valentine’s Day
Whether you’re single, married, or in a relationship, the Denver Municipal Animal Shelter (DMAS) wants to help you meet your perfect match this Valentine’s Day.
From noon to 4 p.m. Feb. 14, DMAS will open for adoptions only, and offer reduced adoption fees ($85 for dogs, $50 for cats, and $10 for small animals).
Volunteers will be on hand playing match-maker between potential adopters and their future pets. Those looking for a companion for existing pets will be able to bring their pets to the shelter (as long as they are vaccinated) to introduce their future pet to their family early.
The Denver Municipal Animal Shelter is located at 678 South Jason Street, Denver, CO 80223.

Metro CareRing is in need of toiletry items. In addition to food, toiletries are of crucial need. As many of you know, those who are served by Metro CareRing do not always have the means to purchase toiletry items and food stamps only cover the cost of food. That puts many of those served in a difficult position. Imagine if you would, a day with no toilet paper, a day with no diapers, a day with no feminine hygiene products.

Most of the smoke detectors in your units were installed in 1998 when Briargate was built. These detectors have a useful life of about 10 years. Some owners are starting to report that they are failing. For your safety and the safety of your neighbors, we recommend that all owners replace their smoke detector units this year. The association will have our electrician onsite on Feb 20 and will install new detectors for just the cost of the unit at that time. Please contact
us if you would like to take advantage of this offer.

On January 11th Denver City
Council approved an ordinance regulating dispensaries in
Denver. The bill sets a 1000 foot distance
requirement from schools and other dispensaries, limits
certain felons from operating dispensaries, bars onsite
consumption of marijuana, and sets fees and security
measures for the businesses. The bill does
not allow dispensaries in residential zoning districts.
The dispensary at 1719 Emerson is zoned R4 and will be
forced to close by March 1st.
Eileen Charles Hyatt (the property owner) spoke against the
ordinance citing the desire to rent the property on
Emerson. A large number of others also spoke
mostly against the measure.
Given the safety concerns created by dispensaries we are
pleased with the outcome of the City Council vote.
The Rocky Mountain Farmacy is opening two new locations
and offers a mobile 24 hour delivery service.
